"catharsis, 2026, penpalling" 9-10 mar. 2026 - 19:30 click to read!!
hey hey hey, it's me again. this year has been a wirlwind for me. both in immeasurably good and bad ways. i've tried to more express myself recently, and find things i'm interested in, like finding a niche topic to read about. i've found history recently has peaked my interest in this way. if you know me in real life you likely already know that. i'm obsessed with history, and i'm an absolute braniac when it comes to history class or it in general. my reading skills have been largely lacking, and it is still a problem i face; most books are either too 'basic' for me. i've found a small handfull of books that i feel (thankfully) seem to peak my interest--ironically, most of them are biographies or historic fiction. i feel like it's rather a dopamine chase.

some ways i've tried to slow down and learn more in a country of anti-intellectualism are by 1; collecting and listening to vinyl's and cd's (my wallet is suffering), 2; journaling and writing more often, and 3; penpalling. i've grown fond of the third one, it's a mix of writing and still being social in a non-social way. i love how i can write and they have no idea how socially anxious i am. i have a few across europe and oceania, so it's interesting to learn different customs and lifestyles. i'm reaching the 1-year mark on a penpal i've had for the longest that i'm still in touch with, which is a cool milestone i suppose.
